All commercial domestic water systems should have a continuous bacterial control regime in place. Traditionally most systems have used temperature as a control, hence the need to regularly monitor this aspect.
Increasingly continuous injection of chemical disinfectants is used as an alternative. This must be completed under approval of DWI. The most common chemical disinfectant used for these purposes is Chlorine Dioxide normally generated at the point of injection by the controlled blending of Sodium Chlorite and Hydrochloric Acid.
There are many benefits of this system which include 24/7 protection and potentially massive energy savings.
We would be pleased to discuss this in further detail with you.
EMERGENCY DISINFECTION
Where bacteria have been allowed to enter and proliferate within a water system they will create a protective bio-film. This then becomes difficult to eradicate and shock dose disinfections commonly used may temporarily remove the problem but re-colonisation of the system will reoccur.
Jordan Environmental Ltd can eliminate this situation by long term dosing of specialist and approved disinfectants that can be used while the water services are in operation.
The disinfectant can be added through water storage vessels or we can provide a temporary unit that will automatically provide the required amount of chemical.
This system is also particularly useful as a means of providing regular planned hygienic maintenance on systems that are continually in use, for example in Hotels and Elderly Person Homes.
